When a cow enters the lactation phase, it becomes essential to shift the focus towards supplying a strongly positive Dietary Cation-Anion Difference (DCAD) diet. Research shows a high DCAD diet plays a pivotal role in promoting healthy rumen function to drive milk production. Premium Milkers Premix is the ultimate solution, delivering a comprehensive mineral formulation rich in calcium, magnesium, and phosphorous to support cows throughout their lactation period. This becomes even more critical when cows are consuming supplementary feeds such as maize.

Safeguard rumen function and maximize production

Agvance Premium Milkers Premix is specifically formulated with positive DCAD minerals to promote optimal rumen function, supporting your milking cows to achieve their peak production and performance potential.

Comprehensive mineral formulation

This scientifically-backed mineral supplement contains an optimal blend of macro and trace minerals, including calcium, magnesium, and phosphorous. These nutrients are carefully balanced to meet the specific requirements of lactating cows, supporting their overall health and immunity.

Supplementary feed support

When cows are consuming supplementary feed, such as maize, the demand for key nutrients intensifies. Premium Milkers Premix bridges the nutritional gap, providing the necessary minerals that may be lacking in supplementary feed, ensuring cows receive a balanced diet.

Unlock the full potential of your dairy herd

Agvance Premium Milkers Premix is the key to unlocking peak milk production with its comprehensive mineral formulation. This premix assists in healthy rumen function to improve production and overall cow health.

What the research shows

  • A meta-analysis of lactating dairy cow studies found that higher dietary cation-anion difference was associated with increased dry matter intake, milk production, fat-corrected milk, rumen pH, fibre digestibility and feed efficiency. (DOI: 10.3168/jds.2015-9949)
  • An early lactation Holstein cow study found that increasing dietary cation-anion difference lifted dry matter intake, milk fat percentage, fat-corrected milk production, milk true protein, lactose and solids-not-fat, while supporting acid-base status. (DOI: 10.3168/jds.2006-514)
  • A lactating cow study found that dietary cation-anion difference affected acid-base balance, mineral metabolism, renal function and milk production, showing the close link between mineral balance and lactation performance. (DOI: 10.3168/jds.S0022-0302(95)76853-9)
  • A lactating cow study comparing sodium bicarbonate and a multielement buffer found that buffering strategies influenced performance and acid-base status, with responses depending on whether buffers were supplied through the diet or rumen. (DOI: 10.3168/jds.S0022-0302(92)78002-3)
Limits

These studies examine lactating cow mineral balance, dietary cation-anion difference, buffering strategies and acid-base status. They do not test Premium Milkers Premix itself.

Study details and links

What was tested

Research on lactating dairy cow mineral nutrition, including dietary cation-anion difference, sodium and potassium-based dietary buffers, multielement buffers and mineral balance during lactation.

Dry matter intake, milk production, milk fat, fat-corrected milk, milk protein, lactose, milk solids-not-fat, rumen pH, fibre digestibility, feed efficiency, acid-base status, blood pH, bicarbonate, urine pH, mineral metabolism and renal function.

The research supports wider dairy cow nutrition principles relating to lactation mineral balance, positive DCAD diets, buffering, rumen conditions, acid-base status and production measures, but it should not be presented as a direct product trial for Premium Milkers Premix.
