Solutrace Metabolizer Plus Goat

Goats are typically more susceptible to mineral deficiencies than dairy cattle and require higher levels of most trace elements. Metabolizer Plus for Goats provides comprehensive support for goat nutrition and wellbeing all year round.

FEATURES

A complete blend of highly concentrated minerals including vitamin D. High-quality mineral chelates deliver maximum uptake of mineral nutritional value while eliminating the risk
of mineral antagonism within the rumen.

  • Totally soluble
  • High levels of minerals in organic form
  • Superior mineral availability due to highly complexed Zinc Plexomin Chelate and Copper Plexomin Chelate
  • Easy to use

BENEFITS

  • Avoid mineral deficiency.
  • Support optimal immunity throughout the year.
  • Minimise exposure to animal health issues on the farm.
  • High-quality Zinc and Copper Chelates support healthy connective tissue, skin, reproductive performance and overall bone health. Supports long-term hoof health.

What the research shows

  • A dairy goat study found that replacing inorganic iron, copper, zinc and manganese with lower-dose organic proteinates, alongside selenium yeast, maintained milk yield and milk protein while increasing dry matter, ether extract and acid detergent fibre digestibility. Faecal copper and iron excretion was also lower with the organic mineral treatment. (DOI: 10.1093/jas/skae187)
  •  A dairy goat study found that zinc-methionine supplementation did not change milk yield, but increased apparent nitrogen absorption, tended to increase zinc retention and reduced the somatic cell response to induced udder stress. (DOI: 10.1017/S0022029902005708)
  •  A late-pregnancy goat study found that both selenomethionine and sodium selenite increased selenium concentrations in does, colostrum and newborn kids. Milk production and IgG concentrations were unchanged, while some white blood cell measures were higher in kids from does receiving selenomethionine. (DOI: 10.1071/AN13150)
  •  A 150-day goat-kid study found that organic zinc and copper supplied at 75% of the inorganic inclusion level maintained growth, feed conversion and nutrient digestibility. Organic zinc and copper supplementation was also associated with higher blood haemoglobin. (DOI: 10.56093/ijans.v83i12.35812)
Limits

These studies examine individual mineral sources or broader trace mineral supplementation strategies in goats, not Solutrace Metabolizer Plus Goat itself.

Study details and links

What was tested

Research in dairy goats and goat kids comparing organic and inorganic trace mineral sources, including zinc, copper, manganese, iron and selenium, along with zinc-methionine supplementation and selenium supplementation during late pregnancy.

Milk yield and composition, nutrient digestibility, mineral excretion and retention, milk and blood mineral status, somatic cell response, colostrum selenium, selenium status in newborn kids, immune-cell measures, growth, feed conversion, rumen fermentation and blood measures.

  • Responses to trace mineral supplementation vary with existing mineral status, total diet, mineral source and dose, physiological stage and interactions with other dietary minerals. Findings from growing kids or late-pregnancy goats cannot be assumed to produce the same results in lactating dairy goats.
