What is it?

Liver stress in dairy cows, often caused by metabolic imbalances like ketosis or fatty liver disease during early lactation, battle to put weight on, are lacklustre, and do not hit normal milk levels. If they overcome negative energy balance, their cycling may be impaired.

Symptoms

  • Decreased milk production
  • Decreased appetite
  • Weight loss and weakness
  • Ketones in urine (ketonuria)
  • Lethargy and poor health
  • Nervousness, staggering, abnormal behaviour
